Google Search Console

Connect Search Console to see your real rankings and clicks, and which articles are in Google

Google Search Console is Google's free tool that reports how your site does in Google Search. Connect it, and RankJet shows your real positions, clicks and appearances, and confirms which of your articles Google has added. It is optional: RankJet works without it, and you can connect it at any time.

What it adds

WhereWhat you get
AnalyticsKeywords ranking, organic traffic, search appearances and pages appearing over time, plus Articles in Google with each published article's appearances, clicks and average position
KeywordsYour position, position trend and ranking page for each keyword on your list
Keyword pageImpressions, clicks, traffic value and every page of yours that ranks, with a warning when two of them compete
ArticlesThe In Google status once Google confirms an article, and Google's own reason when it has not added one
Suggested updatesImprovements to published articles, based on the searches they already appear for
Site healthChecks whether Google has added your important pages, plus opportunities from your search data. The opportunities never change the score

It also makes keyword choices more accurate. With your real positions, RankJet knows which searches you already rank for and avoids writing a second page that competes with one you have. Search Console only adds data to keywords on your list. It never adds keywords.

Read-only access

RankJet asks Google for read-only access to Search Console. It can read your performance data and the status of your pages. It cannot change your Search Console settings, submit anything to Google or touch your site. The access is stored encrypted, see Security.

This connection is separate from how you sign in to RankJet. You can sign in with one Google account and connect Search Console with another, as long as that account is an owner or full user of your site's property in Search Console.

Connect it

  1. Open Settings, go to the Integrations tab and click Connect on the Google Search Console card. You can also connect from Analytics or the Finish setup page
  2. Choose the Google account that has access to your site in Search Console, and allow read-only access
  3. RankJet picks the property that matches your website. If it finds several, choose the right one from the list
  4. Your data appears right after you connect and stays up to date from then on
Your site has to be in Search Console first. If it is not there yet, add it in Search Console and verify that you own it, then connect it to RankJet. A new property needs a few days before Google has data to show.

Disconnect or reconnect

To disconnect, open Settings, go to the Integrations tab and click Disconnect on the Search Console card. RankJet deletes the stored access and stops reading new data. If the access stops working, for example because you removed RankJet from your Google account, the card shows Access expired and a Reconnect button.
